NBCU ups marketing exec Margaret Walker to drive audience growth – TBI Vision

NBCUniversal Television and Streaming has promoted Digital Marketing Executive Margaret Walker to SVP of Audience Acquisition and Growth for the company’s entertainment and sports departments.

In her new role, Walker will oversee all digital platform programming and priority management, and work to drive digital revenue, acquisitions, and engagement in the entertainment industry – including NBC, Bravo, E !, Oxygen, SYFY, Universal Kids, and USA – as well as with audiences Acquisition for sport.

“She is an expert in identifying key opportunities in the digital landscape for NBCU and we are excited that she is paving the way for our future audience acquisition and growth.”

Walker previously served as the SVP of digital product and sales marketing for NBCUniversal, which included overseeing operations for NBC.com and increasing digital viewership and revenue through NBCU’s streaming entertainment apps. She also led the rebuilding of NBCU’s marketing technology stack, increasing the growth and retention of its digital audience.

She joined the company in 2016 as VP of Digital Product & Distribution Marketing before being promoted in 2019. Prior to NBCUniversal, Walker was the Senior Director of Marketing at DIRECTV.

Walker now reports to Jennifer Storms, CMO, Entertainment & Sports, who commented, “Margaret played a significant role in defining NBCUniversal’s digital presence on our entertainment platforms and will continue to thrive in this newly expanded capacity.
