Greater than £30,000 given in grants to 10 Crawley companies

The funding comes from a nationwide pot and is separate from the funds sent out in response to the pandemic.

The Council’s successful small business grant program was created to assist start-ups and existing small businesses with expansion costs; Since its inception in February 2016, the program has financially supported more than 99 micro and small businesses in Crawley

Councilor Peter Smith, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “I am thrilled that we have been able to provide more funding to micro and small businesses, especially given the current economic climate and the negative impact on Crawley of the pandemic.”

In the last funding round:

Airborne Representation Ltd (Skybreak), a Gatwick-based airport customer service company, received £ 4,000 to support a project aimed at establishing a fully mobile / remote branch of the company, including the introduction of a digital payment and document signing system, an online communication platform (live Chat etc.) and marketing to promote these new services

Avensys has received £ 4,000 to help transition from providing audiovisual (AV) equipment for personal corporate events to digital equivalents

The BeYouToFull company also received £ 4,000. This start-up company applied for funding to launch and market a website to sell its holistic health counseling services and products

Crawley and Gatwick Business Clock, the member-led crime-fighting partnership, received £ 4,000 to support marketing efforts and replenish its member radio network

CVHQ Limited, a new start-up recruiting company, received £ 4,000 to launch a new online job board and recruitment agency

Several apartments Limited, a finance start-up, also received £ 4,000 to help develop custom software to assist people filing tax returns on property acquisitions

Game of scones, a home bakery, received £ 2,000 to help purchase equipment such as a walk-in cooler and convection oven

Inscape Group Limited, a start-up recruiting firm, also received £ 2,000 to help start-ups and equipment

Eschon Limited received £ 1,982. This environmental management consultancy applied for funding to purchase IT and AV equipment to provide new digital services

Little Holly Hedgehog Preschool in West Green received £ 1,500 to purchase existing assets from the former owner and to cover a range of acquisition costs.

Councilor Peter Smith, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “I am thrilled that we have been able to raise funding for micro and small businesses, especially given the current economic climate and the negative impact the pandemic has on Crawley.

“These small grants can make a huge difference to recipients and I wish them all the best as they try to grow their business.”

Small business grants are available to Crawley companies with 50 or fewer employees and require a 50 percent match fund from the company.
