Dr. Norma Raynes, who is 81 years old and lives in Whitchurch, has just completed a business expansion course developed by specialist consultancy Good2Great.

Norma’s organization “From Generation to Generation”, which brings older people together with schoolchildren, is now hoping for success.

“My company aims to develop sustainable programs to support and inspire young and older members of local communities by bringing them together to work together, have fun and learn from one another,” she said.

“We want communities to appreciate the benefits they have in younger and older people, help them enrich learning opportunities for their students, and provide a range of programs and partnerships for schools.”

Norma said she believed the pandemic had ruined her expansion plans, but since she had completed the expansion course, she was optimistic about the future.

“Good2Great has provided excellent hands-on assistance and made us realize that we have a valuable product and what we should do to get it to market,” she added.

Sally Themans of Good2Great in Bridgnorth said her advice has helped a number of business owners.

“We have supported people of all ages – from teenagers who are just starting their careers to eighty-year-olds like Norma – she is a very inspiring personality who shows that age is not important when you are entrepreneurial.”

Good2Great’s business expansion program is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Telford & Wrekin Council on behalf of partner Shropshire Council.
