Strategy & buys strategic insurance consultancy 67rockwell

Strategy & has agreed to take over 67rockwell Consulting, a German strategic consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry.

The deal is, according to Consultancy.org records, Strategy &’s first announced acquisition * since it was founded seven years ago after Booz & Company merged with PwC.

The fact that Strategy & Germany has chosen as its business area is not a big surprise: The strategy consulting firm invests heavily in Germany (which was its first European base in 1965), its CEO is a German (Joachim Rotering). Based in Düsseldorf and whether by chance or not, the last deal that was made under the Booz & Company banner was a German company (Management Engineers).

The merger of 67rockwell Consulting expands the Strategy & teams in Hamburg and Düsseldorf by 30 partners and consultants and strengthens insurance practice. “With this acquisition, we are jointly building a powerhouse for advising insurance companies,” said Philipp Wackerbeck, partner at Strategy & Germany and global head of the company’s Financial Services division.

67rockwell Consulting was founded in 2008 and advises insurance companies on strategy, business model and operations. “We help our customers to develop and implement value-adding strategies. To ensure results, we strive to be business and practical to develop actionable strategies that create sustainable value, ”stated Tim Braasch, founder and CEO of 67rockwell.

As a result of the integration, the entire management team of 67rockwell Consulting – Tim Braasch, Marcus Laakmann, Michael Reich and Thorsten Schramm – Strategy & joins.

The two companies are leaders in the German consulting industry with 34 billion euros. According to a survey of over 3,500 executives and consultants, the newly wed partners are among the country’s top strategy consulting firms. “We are very pleased to be part of Strategy &, the leading consulting firm for the DACH insurance market.” said Braasch.

Peter Gassmann, Head of Strategy & in Germany and Europe, said: “This enables us to provide an even broader and deeper portfolio of consulting services in order to help shape the change in the insurance industry.”

* Strategy & has closed office expansions and team carve-outs over the years but made no acquisitions.
