Property consultancy employed to handle main logistics hub

Property consultancy hired to manage major logistics hub

Doncaster-based real estate advisory group Barnsdales has been named the new property and facility manager of the iPort logistics center.

iPort is an advanced multimodal logistics hub helping companies like Amazon, CEVA, Fellowes, Lidl, Maritime, Woodland Group and Kingsbury Press distribute goods across the UK.

Barnsdales will play a key role in ensuring the continued growth and success of the hub, which when completed will have more than six million square feet of logistics space and support up to 5,000 jobs.

Barnsdales Property Consultants will act as property manager and sister company. Barnsdales FM will provide facility management support for all existing properties on the property.

Jason Barnsdale, General Manager, said, “This assignment is really exciting for us. As a family business based in Doncaster, it is a great honor to be selected to take over the property management role for this location which is such an important part of our local economy and community.

“We have received several major assignments over the past few years as we have grown nationally and locally in the South Yorkshire region.

“IPort is an amazing website and property management is critical to its success. As a local business, we will be very handy and work with the companies based here to make sure the property assets work as needed.

Simon Walter, Verdion’s Director of Asset Management responsible for iPort, said, “Effective property management is central to the long-term success of iPort.

“As a thriving, easy-to-use and practical base for our users, it is critical that we have a strong team.

“We are very excited to appoint Barnsdales as our property and facility managers and to welcome another local company to the site.”
