An engineering software consultancy in Coventry is investing a six-figure sum and hiring new staff after receiving help from a business support group.

EnginSoft UK Ltd was founded in 2009 in the Venture Center of the University of Warwick Science Park on Sir William Lyons Road. The company specializes in providing virtual prototyping, consulting, training and research to a range of customers, including Jaguar Land Rover.

A total of £ 150,000 will be invested in hydraulic software this year, along with a £ 44,207 grant from the Coventry and Warwickshire Business Support Program after the company received help from the growth hub of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP).

Bipin Patel, Co-Founder and Managing Director, said, “We have a number of clients in the water sector and have developed software tools to help them manage the flooding impact of cities growth from the drainage capacity required for housing. Hospitals and schools and climate change .

“You can have a 25-year plan for growth but have no way of knowing when the growth will happen or when climate change will kick in. So we’re developing AI-based software to manage risk for water companies.

“I reached out to the Growth Center to learn more about grants and I was impressed with their speed and the support from Coventry City Council in helping me complete the application form, which had to be completed within a week to get dated Grant panel to be discussed. It was great to be successful and to have the grant to support our investment. “

Patel has hired 39 interns as part of the government’s Kickstart program to add to the 11 employees it currently has.

He added, “I think the government has supported us well through the pandemic since we were able to take advantage of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Bounce Back Loans and Grants. By getting involved in Kickstart I can give something back to the community – especially those Engineering community.

“I understand that if we lose them to other sectors during Covid-19, there could be a shortage of engineers and if the economy picks up again, there could be a shortage of engineers.

“We realized that there were some fantastic talents out there, including in sales and marketing, and we are benefiting from them as a company.”

Justine Chadwick, Account Manager at CWLEP Growth Hub, added: “EnginSoft UK is looking to expand further as new business is gained in a number of sectors.

“Employability skills are key to future growth. Recruiting and training young people through the government’s Kickstart program is an ideal way to hire talented people and teach them the skills your business needs.

“The initiative has been a great opportunity for EnginSoft UK to attract new engineers and give them valuable experience for their future career development so that this is a win-win situation.”
