Gatorade declares the first-to-market sweat patch and app

Gatorade announces the first sweat plaster and app on the market

The sports fuel company is expanding its Gx system, putting the knowledge from the Gatorade Sports Science Institute in athletes’ pockets to help them perform at their best

Gatorade announced the introduction of the Gx Sweat Patch, a first-ever wearable device, and the Gx App, which will give athletes the first ever access to 35 years of research and knowledge from the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.

The expansion of the sports fuel company’s Gx system, which also includes the previously launched Gx bottles and capsules, reflects the company’s commitment to science-based innovation and personalized nutritional strategies, and is also the first time Gatorade has been providing information to athletes, isn’t it only products.

Both the Gx Sweat Patch and Gx App bring some of the advanced science and services Gatorade offers to professional and academic athletes to those athletes who want to better understand their bodies as they pursue performance goals.

The Gx Sweat Patch is a unique wearable on the market that uses a laboratory-based sweat test protocol to determine the unique sweat profile of athletes in order to determine personalized hydration strategies. Hydration and sweat are key to athletic performance, and the sport fuels company provides the knowledge needed to better understand personal needs and stay properly hydrated before, during, and after your workout.

For use, the patch should be placed on the left inner arm during a single workout and the patch will fill as the athlete exercises. Once the workout is complete, the sweat field can be scanned in the Gx app to reveal the athlete’s unique sweat profile.

The Gx app combines aggregated data from health and fitness apps with 35 years of research from the Gatorade Sports Science Institute to create actionable recommendations to help athletes achieve their training goals and be their best.

The app can be seamlessly integrated with Garmin Connect, Strava and Apple Health to exchange training data, and with the help of a curated number scale, the Gx Score, provides insights into training load, recovery and nutrition to outline how well the user is pursuing his individual activity goals every week based on established benchmarks.

In combination with the Gx Sweat Patch, the Gx App can provide specific hydration recommendations to ensure proper fueling before, during and after training.

The Gx Sweat Patch and the Gx App are part of Gatorade’s Gx platform, which also includes the Gx bottles and pads presented earlier. The Gx bottle is a squeeze bottle with a flip cap specially designed to pierce the associated capsules with different concentrations of electrolytes and carbohydrates in order to optimize personal hydration and fuel intake.
