Mid-tier administration consultancy Noetic joins FTS Group

Canberra-based management consulting firm Noetic has partnered with the FTS Group, one of Australia’s largest IT services companies.

According to Andrew Balmaks, Chief Executive Officer of Noetic, the majority stake marks a new chapter for the consulting company, which was founded in 2001 and currently has around 50 consultants, employees and employees. “This acquisition will allow us to further accelerate our growth,” he said, pointing out a number of benefits.

For starters, it will allow the consultancy to develop a larger customer network and pave the way for expansion into new sectors and segments. More importantly, Noetic adds a level of technological know-how to its offerings, which means that Noetic can “offer a wider range of services to its customers by leveraging the robust and diverse capabilities of AGV”.

The FTS Group comprises a number of brands that together can provide an end-to-end offering for customers in the digital transformation and technology sectors. The brands include the system integration specialist Anatas, the digital transformation specialists Galaxy 42 and Veritec, the software house KoBold, the data science expert FTS Data and the occupational safety provider Safety Evolved.

The group also has a change management and learning and development consultancy under their wing. Cubic Consulting operating out of offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Noetic will act as the FTS Group’s more strategic advisory wing, working with clients on their change and transformation agendas as well as providing transitions. “Noetic’s proven track record of providing excellent consulting services enables the FTS Group and its companies to drive major strategic business improvements for their clients,” said Stephen Kowal, FTS Group’s chief executive officer.

Noetic, which has offices in Sydney and Brisbane, is particularly active in the areas of government, national security and defense, non-profit organizations, emergency management, oil and gas and mining, and deepens the existing portfolio of the FTS Group in these sectors.

As part of the business, Noetic will continue to operate under its own brand and at the same time be an integral part of the FTS Group. Andrew Balmaks and his co-founder Peter Murphy will work closely with the CEOs of the other companies in the FTS group to drive collaboration on projects and innovation on proposition and thought leaders.

The deal marks the third in the Australian consulting scene in 2021. Last month McKinsey strengthened its digital practice with a small acquisition, while technology consultancy Servian was acquired by Cognizant in early January.
