There are some major changes in managerial positions in Gloucestershire this summer: from new members of the Gloucestershire Charity Board to Commercial Law and galore to Chartered Surveyors.

Marcus Gomery – Pied Piper Appeal Committee

Brunsdon Financial’s managing director, Marcus Gomery, has been appointed to the board of directors of The Pied Piper Appeal.

It’s an appointment that also recognizes the company’s longstanding relationship with the Gloucester-based charity that supports children and their families during some of the toughest times of their lives.

The charity is providing specialized equipment for the Children’s Center at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and outfitting children’s outpatient areas in hospitals across the county. It also provides minibuses and sensory devices to SEND schools and organizes holidays for children with life-limiting diseases.

Mr. Gomery described himself as “humble and privileged”.

WSP Solicitors, with offices in Stroud, Gloucester and Dursley, has appointed three new salaried directors.

Amy Leivers is director of commercial real estate at WSP Solicitors; Kirstie Carr heads the retail banking division; and Lucy McCallum, director of home transfers.

David Evans – German Design Council

David Jones, managing director of the planning and real estate consultancy Evans Jones, was appointed to the German Design Council as one of its national experts.

Design Council, founded in 1944 by the Winston Churchill government to aid Britain’s economic recovery, exists to improve life through design.

An independent charity and government design consultant, it also works with grassroots government providing programs, producing world-class research, and influencing policy – on the built environment, public sector design, and social and business innovation.

“I am honored to be appointed to the German Design Council as an expert. I have been a representative on the Gloucestershire Design Panel for a number of years and now I am bringing this up nationally, ”said Mr Jones.

Mr Wilkey, who has headed the firm’s corporate team in Cheltenham since 2013 and in London since last summer, has been with the firm since 2010.

Mr. Gooch, who holds a Masters Degree in Planning Practice and Research from Cardiff University, comes from Boyer Planning Bureau, where he was a senior planner in the Welsh capital.

His job will be to identify new strategic land opportunities from the West Midlands to Somerset and neighboring Dorset and Wiltshire and guide properties with development potential through the planning process for the housing market.

James Tarpy, a recent Newcastle University graduate with an MSc in urban planning and a specialist in site-based urban renewal, also joins the company.

She has held senior positions as investment portfolio manager at Royal London and Invesco Perpetual, managing global and US equity vehicles for several major US investment institutions. She is also a former regulator with the Financial Conduct Authority.

Craig Hatch – WellChild

WellChild, the national charity for critically ill children, has named Craig Hatch as its new board of trustees chairman.

Mr. Hatch of Cockermouth has firsthand experience of the challenges faced by families caring for a child with complex health needs. One of his four children, Fraser, has cerebral palsy and needs a lot of daily care.

Craig has been with WellChild for eight years after his family first attended a WellChild Mountain Rescue Day in the Lake District.

WellChild’s previous chairman of the trustee, Andrew Osborne, has retired after three years in office.

Nick Evans – Deputy Police and Detective Superintendent of Gloucestershire

Forest of Dean County Councilor Nick Evans is the new Deputy Police and Criminal Police Commissioner (DPCC) of Gloucestershire.
Mr. Evans, Conservative Tidenham Alderman, will lead crime prevention and the “public health” approach to crime, representing the PCC in meetings and in public, and acting on its behalf as required by law.

Mr. Evans, a former Special Constable, was selected as the Preferred Candidate after a selection interview nearly three weeks ago.

PCC Chris Nelson said: ‘Nick was the outstanding candidate in a very strong field. He brings a wealth of experience with him. ‘
