Introduction to Digital Advertising Programme launched by Council

Newry, Morne and Down Borough Council has launched its latest business support scheme designed to transform the way local SMEs embrace and respond to continued growth and reliance on online sales and marketing.
The Digital Marketing Introduction program provides participants with the knowledge and skills to better communicate with new and existing customers while promoting their business using online and social media. Experienced mentors explain the basic elements of digital marketing and how to effectively implement them to grow your business.
The NMD Business Growth Scheme is funded in part by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investing for Growth and Jobs in Northern Ireland program (2014-2020).
Councilor Cathy Mason, Newry, Morne and Down District Council Chairperson, explained why those eligible for the program should attend. She said: “With the constant and steady growth of social media, online shopping and virtual meetings and events, just running your business offline or in-store is no longer enough. The last two years have only accelerated the need for businesses to adapt and be able to work online and communicate with customers.

“This is the perfect time for SMEs to review the way they work and improve their skills. Therefore, any business owner who believes they can improve their digital and social media marketing strategy should contact our business support teams and get involved. You’ll learn invaluable new skills and take important advice from some of the most experienced mentors in the industry.”
Attendees will gain access to two two-hour workshops on digital marketing techniques
and the impact of social media, as well as tailored one-on-one mentoring support to put their new theory into practice. The program is open to companies based in the Boroughs of Newry, Morne and Down District Council, employing fewer than 50 people and who have not previously received support from NMD Business Growth.
