Deloitte buys SAP specialist Ouest Business Solutions

Deloitte Canada has acquired Ouest Business Solutions, a Vancouver-based provider of SAP software consulting for enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Ouest has over 15 years of experience providing services in the implementation, maintenance and training of SAP solutions to customers in the mining, construction and engineering, utilities, retail and public sectors.

The company has expertise in a number of SAP modules, including financial accounting and controlling, materials management, human resources, payroll, plant maintenance, project systems, business warehouse and security.

The firm’s 28-strong team has supported clients such as Loblaws, Goldcorp, and the City of Vancouver.

Deloitte’s acquisition of Ouest will strengthen its SAP consulting capabilities in Western Canada and nationally. Ouest’s team will join Deloitte’s Vancouver and Toronto consulting practice, with CEO Tanya Peachey as partner and COO Jeffrey Wong as director.

“This is a significant strategic addition for the company given the digital acceleration of the market after the pandemic and the desire to modernize IT systems to make this possible,” said Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada. “Ouest will not only allow us to expand our mid-market SAP offering, it will also open new corridors to expand our services and explore new relationships, especially in Western Canada.”

Deloitte’s SAP practice has won numerous SAP Pinnacle Awards – the highest partner award for the German software giant. The consulting company won the SAP Pinnacle Award as SAP S / 4HANA Partner of the Year (Large Enterprise) from 2016-2018 and 2020-2021 as well as the SAP Pinnacle Award 2021 as Delivery Excellence Partner of the Year.

“In this next phase, we look forward to continuing our journey by developing new relationships in Western Canada, expanding the Deloitte network of offerings and bringing a range of cutting-edge SAP solutions to Canadian customers,” said Peachey.

Deloitte has acquired digital consulting firms since divesting much of its regional offices focused on providing accounting and tax services to small businesses. The growth engine of every consulting company today is digital transformation, in which demand continues to accelerate.

Deloitte’s acquisitions in 2021 were clearly digital. These include the digital consulting company TWG, the data company Groundswell Group, the SAP specialist Clockwork Inc. and the AI consulting company Dataperformers.
