New appointments to the Racial Equality Support Group

I am Osu

The Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Combined Authority have announced two appointments.

Gloria Hyatt has been named as the new chairman of the Race Equality Business Support Working Group with Ben Osu as vice chairman.

Hyatt has been a serial entrepreneur and director of Teach Consultancy since 2005, having previously founded an academy in Toxteth and leading it to a standout HMI.

Ben Osu leads the Anthony Walker Foundation’s work to fight racial injustice and promote racial equality among young people in schools. He also works with employers to help them develop jobs that actively combat racism and discrimination.

The working group was established to better understand the barriers to access by black, Asian and ethnic minorities to business support services.

The group was founded to support the Race Equality Program for the Liverpool City area, launched last year by Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram.

Gloria Hyatt was also invited to join the LEP board of directors.

Asif Hamid MBE, Chairman of the LEP, said, “Gloria and Ben’s in-depth expertise and knowledge in the field of equality will be a tremendous asset to the group.

“I am also excited to welcome Gloria to the LEP Executive Board who will be a great addition.”
