Sendinblue acquires on-line advertising instrument supplier PushOwl

More ETSA 2021 nominees; 500 Freshworks employees become crorepatis

Chennai: PushOwl, a digital marketing tool for e-commerce stores to send push notifications, has been acquired by Sendinblue, based in Paris, as the e-commerce arm in India.

The French SaaS startup has also acquired two other e-commerce marketing companies, Chatra and Metrilo, for a total contract of more than $ 47 million, but much of the money was spent on buying PushOwl. The founder of PushOwl, Shashank Kumar, will continue to lead the company and join the Sendinblue leadership team as Vice President-Product.

“The acquisition of PushOwl, Metrilo and Chatra is part of Sendinblue’s longer-term vision to expand our marketing capabilities and immerse ourselves in the growing e-commerce space,” said Armand Thiberge, CEO of Sendinblue. “Our all-in-one digital marketing solution is now even more powerful and enables these companies to accelerate sales and drive strategic business decisions.”

The acquisitions come 11 months after Sendinblue’s $ 160 million Series B funding round to drive product expansion and drive growth in the North American market. PushOwl works with e-commerce brands like Culture Kings, Sugar Cosmetics, Lange Beauty and Vital Proteins, to name a few.

“Sendinblue is a leader in marketing automation and with this acquisition we can join forces to improve ecommerce marketing and create a product that customers really love, add value and ultimately simplify omnichannel marketing,” said Kumar. “This would be a game changer for dealers.”
