BIM consulting firm BIMBox doubled its team after growing in 2020-21 as the company defied the challenges of the pandemic era

The BIM consulting firm has seen remarkable success and expansion, with a steady influx of talent over the past year.

Since the beginning of 2020, the Manchester-based organization has worked on over 40 construction projects nationwide while supporting the strategic BIM development of a dozen organizations.

The team has more than doubled in that time from seven to 15 and has modernized its office and moved to a larger room at 70 Spring Gardens, Manchester.

The expanding BIM consulting firm will continue to recruit until the last quarter of 2021.

Most recent project success

Recent projects to which BIMBox has provided information management services include £ 35million The Spine in the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool and the £ 27million Cefn Saeson Comprehensive School in Wales for Morgan Sindall Construction.

It has also provided services on the £ 50million The Catalyst in Newcastle for Bowmer + Kirkland and the Meridian Water Station in London for VolkerFitzpatrick.

Chris Crookes, Managing Director of BIMBox said, “It’s an exciting time for digital building – the government’s Construction Playbook has renewed industry interest in the role of digital building in solving broader societal challenges, such as efficiency gains.

“As a company that is active in the digital sector, we are fortunate enough not only to survive the last 18 months, but also to grow above our forecasts.

“Our defined range of services, which acts both as a cross-sector project BIM consultant and as a strategic development partner for a large number of organizations, has brought both returning and new customers to our door.”

“A diverse, dynamic team”

Crookes added, “Our new hires to the company come from a variety of backgrounds, from architecture, M&E and civil engineering to interior design and construction, as well as graduates of specialized BIM degrees from the University of Salford.

“We knew we wanted to build a diverse, dynamic team and creating a bespoke space would help bring out the best in them.

“In 2020 of all times, we moved to a larger office in Spring Gardens, Manchester, and it’s great to see that now everyone can personally make the most of the bespoke space.

“We hope it continues to support our service offering and attract the best emerging BIM talent to the business.”

BIMBox is a BSI Associate Consultant and works in four service areas, including information management, strategic support, 3D modeling and project activities.
