The consultancy the place shoppers present the most effective recommendation

The consultancy where clients provide the best advice

One type of Tenfold event, Roundtables, is designed to help executives network and solve specific challenges they face, compare their practices, and get alternative perspectives on issues that only other executives would truly understand.

In addition, Tenfold regularly offers “Masterclasses” and “Dialogues” in which local and international experts talk about topics such as leadership skills, dealing with stress and high performance. The company hosts events of varying sizes at least once a week, some for top executive teams and others for specific roles such as chief executives, executive assistants, and human resource managers.

(Events went online amid lockdowns in NSW, Victoria, and Queensland).

Ask questions or just listen

Allison Rossiter, managing director of medical testing company Roche Diagnostics Australia and a member of Tenfold, said the events provided a different experience than seeking advice from a consultant.

Allison Rossiter is the managing director of Roche Diagnostics in Australia.

“It’s different from an outside advisor or advisor. I guess you don’t feel the pressure, it’s more informal but you get all the information you need at your own pace. You can ask as many questions as you want or just be quiet and listen and take the wisdom out of the room, ”she said.

“In the end, it’s a group of trustworthy colleagues, friends, advisors… and sometimes you give it your all. And sometimes we do the whole recording. And sometimes it’s half and half. But I have the feeling that every meeting is different. “

Ms. Rossiter, whose company is a major provider of COVID-19 testing across the country, said the ability to meet executives from other industries is the service’s main draw.

“This is the fourth country I have lived and worked in [during] the last seven years [and] When you move a country, you often arrive and don’t know anyone. Due to the long working hours, you only get to know people with whom you work – not ideal if you are a managing director [or] whoever you meet at the gym or wherever you go to socialize, ”she said.

“So if I’m lucky enough to meet a group of people in similar roles at the gym, I’m in luck. But the fact that there are so many people in roles similar to me at Tenfold, in all different industries, is the jewel for me. Different experiences, but similar challenges … I really learn from the diversity of thinking, it challenges my own thinking. “

Other current members are executives of the transport company DHL Supply Chain; Technology companies Dell, HP, and Amazon Web Services; and Baker McKenzie law firm.

Previous speakers have included former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Chairman of the Competition Commissioner Rod Sims, former Netflix Global Chief Talent Officer Patty McCord, Radical Candor author Kim Scott, former Ritz-Carlton President Horst Schulze and the Harvard executive professor Amy Edmondson.

COVID-19 response

Members were particularly interested in asking their peers how they have dealt with COVID-19 disruptions in their organizations, said Dani Matthews, Tenfold’s chief impact officer.

“Issues that have come up during this lockdown include maintaining employee mental health during the lockdown, encouraging staff to get vaccinated, home pressures, encouraging team members to take vacation, and the Balance between prioritizing wellbeing and maintaining performance, ”she said.

Tenfold’s standard fees are $ 30,000 for an annual subscription for an executive team and $ 17,500 for a CEO and board assistant team.

The Internal Consulting Group consulting platform offers a similar but more focused service, Engage Your Peers, where its experts connect clients with “like-minded, non-competing colleagues” around the world to discuss topics of common interest in a formalized process. Service starts at $ 30,000.

Many consulting firms also host a number of private “peer-to-peer” networking events for clients, but these are often designed to sell the company’s services and experts. Other less focused options for executives are the networking events of organizations such as professional associations, universities, and charities.
