Accenture buys provide chain IT consultancy Blue Horseshoe

Accenture acquires supply chain IT consultancy Blue Horseshoe

Accenture has acquired Blue Horseshoe, an Indianapolis-based company specializing in supply chain technology consulting.

Blue Horseshoe was founded in 2001 and supports companies in the integration of cloud-based solutions for supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, warehouse management and transport management. The company supports customers in the retail, consumer goods, food and beverage, transport and logistics sectors in implementing, updating and managing solutions from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle Netsuite and Manhattan.

The company has completed more than 600 supply chain orders in 27 countries. Blue Horseshoe employs approximately 350 people in offices in Carmel, IN; Broomfield, CO; Westerville, Ohio; and Charlotte, NC, and international offices in the Netherlands and Estonia.

Accenture’s acquisition of Blue Horseshoe will strengthen its Supply Chain & Operations Group and its capabilities in building connected and intelligent supply chains.

“To be competitive, companies must transform their supply chains to deliver innovative and hyper-personalized products, services and experiences that are in high demand – and fulfillment is at the core of that transformation,” said Renato Scaff, Supply Chain & Operations North, Accenture America Lead . “Blue Horseshoe’s extensive consulting experience and methodology support Accenture’s vision of building customer-oriented, resilient and responsible supply chains that benefit people, society and the planet.”

The move continues Accenture’s investment drive into its cloud consulting capabilities.

Dublin-based management and technology consultancy acquired Symmetry Systems, a San Francisco-based cloud data security startup, and Imaginea, a cloud-native product and platform engineering company from Silicon Valley, earlier this year.

The company’s other acquisitions in the US in 2021 include management consultancy HRC Retail Advisory and change management consultancy Future State.

Chris Cason, CEO of Blue Horseshoe, said, “As part of Accenture, we will bring greater reach and combined expertise to help customers implement next generation supply chain and fulfillment strategies that meet customer expectations and drive business growth support.”

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
