Management consultancy Hexagon Consultants says the first half of 2021 has been a very busy time as it has confirmed its involvement in two projects of global importance.

Hexagon, headquartered in Leeds, has given Sheffield Forgemasters full support as it tackles its future, securing a groundbreaking change of ownership to the Department of Defense (MoD) and a £ 400 million investment deal last week. The team also provides supply chain management expertise to the Vaccine Task Force and supports the successful nationwide rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine together with national healthcare partners and suppliers.

CEO Peter Ahye, who co-founded Hexagon with Managing Director Sue Williams in 2015, said: “We are excited to be working with these key accounts to support them in the strategic work that puts the UK on the world map for two very different reasons. The deal with Sheffield Forgemasters is a one-time transaction that you were involved in. It secures the future of the company and its role as a key supplier to the next generation of UK defense programs.

“In the meantime, the Covid Vaccine Task Force program ensures that our nationwide response to the pandemic can help fuel the country’s post-Covid recovery. This is something the UK is leading the way around the world and we look forward to doing our part to ensure a smooth and efficient roll-out program. “

The Hexagon team also provided complex strategic multi-stakeholder support and extensive other cross-functional support to both customers. Williams led the supply chain assurance and planning and modeling teams for the Vaccine Task Force. This included mapping and assessing the vaccine supply chain, as well as managing the detailed planning and scheduling of vaccine delivery for the UK. Work for Sheffield Forgemasters included program management, financial modeling, procurement and technical expertise in building the options and the final business case.

Stephen Hammell, CFO at Sheffield Forgemasters, said, “This is a significant milestone in our company’s history and has required reliable, strategic, hands-on deployment support at every stage. Hexagon’s knowledge, ability to meet strict deadlines, and working closely with our people have been invaluable. You have dealt with relevant facets of our business and worked with us through the complexity and demonstrated professionalism and rigor. “

Looking back on a significant year to date, Ahye added that Hexagon continued to work on large national and regional projects with a growing customer base.

Ahye added, “It’s been a brisk first half across multiple sectors as companies seek to implement key strategic plans that support long-term goals following the pandemic. While the past few years have been worrying for many sectors, we are seeing tremendous resilience across our customer base.

“In addition to M&A advice and supply chain management, we have been particularly interested in our expertise in transformative people change programs in recent months. We pride ourselves on being an extension of every client’s business, providing bandwidth to senior teams during complex strategic projects. ”
