Lengthy-established consultancy acquired by international agency

Traditional consulting company taken over by global corporation

Hoare Lea, an engineering firm that traces its roots back to 1862 and has offices across the UK, has been acquired by global environmental consultancy Tetra Tech Group.

Hoare Lea joins Tetra Tech’s High Performance Buildings Group, a global alliance of MEP specialists, and will operate as a standalone unit.

The 2,500-strong High Performance Buildings Group consists of Cosentini Associates and Glumac in the USA and NDY in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Tetra Tech employs more than 20,000 engineers, scientists and specialists and advises on complex problems in the areas of water, the environment, sustainable infrastructure, renewable energies and international development.

Deloitte Bristol, led by Martyn Gregory, advised Hoare Lea’s shareholders / LLP partners on corporate finance.
