Pegasus Consultancy announces plans for 300 new homes and businesses in Stoneyburn

Plans to build up to 300 new homes and businesses in the village of Stoneyburn in West Lothian have been submitted by Pegasus advice.

The plans were submitted on behalf of an as yet unknown developer who wants to build the residential development with community center and shops in the village.

Plans also indicated that the proposed development in the land south of Cannop Crescent would include landscaping, roads, bike paths and footpaths.

In the application for EIA screening a Spokesman for Pegasus Consultancy explains more about the site.

They said: “The site is located next to the Stoneyburn settlement boundary within the country, but outside a defined Countryside Belt and borders on an established residential area within the meaning of the accepted West Lothian Local Development Plan.

“The location does not include first-class agricultural areas that are surrounded by old forest and the Breichwassertal. As shown in the attached map, the site borders on Cannop Crescent to the north, the Burnlea Place / Meadow Place / Redcroft Place settlement to the east, old trees to the southwest and the Water area to the south.

“The proposal concerns the development of the field south of Cannop Crescent and the field south of Burnlea Drive.”

A full building application is now expected to be presented to the council, reports The West Lothian Courier.
