M&A consultancy Arma Companions hits $100 million milestone

Paul-Noël Guély, Managing Partner, Arma Partners

Arma Partners, a financial advisory firm headquartered in London, has reached a special milestone and has exceeded the $ 100 million mark for the first time in its eighteen-year history.

Although the team required remote collaboration due to Covid-19 and introduced an unfamiliar dynamic in business transactions, Arma Partners advised in the last financial year (end of December 31).

Founded in 2003 with four London-based employees focused on software mergers and acquisitions, Arma Partners has continued to develop its corporate finance advisory practice in communications, media and technology – what the company now calls the “digital economy”.

Paul-Noël Guély, Founder and Managing Partner of Arma Partners, said: “The last twelve months have been very challenging and I am incredibly proud of the way our team has worked together to continue to provide our customers with first class advice and exceptional results.” “

Since its inception, the M&A advisory firm has advised on over 230 transactions, around three-quarters of which were cross-border, for a total value of over $ 80 billion.

The deals Arma Partners advised on last year included the $ 12.2 billion acquisition of Visma; Private equity recapitalizations of Xceptor from Astorg, IFS from TA Associates, Aareon from Advent, thinkProject from EQT, Jakala from Ardian, Node4 from Providence and Unit4 from TA Associates; cross-border strategic exits, including the sale of NewSignature to Cognizant, Nordcloud to IBM and Planday to Xero.

The company also backed seven growth capital financings, including more than $ 100 million in rounds for Catawiki, Rohlik and Wolt.

Building on its growth, the company expanded the size of its partnership to eleven after the promotion of Claire Boydell (who has served as Arma’s General Counsel since 2015) and Barry Jaber (formerly Partner at Strategy &).
