Kin Fund Providers Acquires Firm Secretarial Enterprise

LONDON, June 9, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Kin Fund Services (www.kinfundservices.com) has taken over Derrington’s corporate secretariat for an undisclosed amount. The transaction complements Kin’s existing service lines in the areas of fund management, fund administration and compliance advice from third-party providers.

Established in 2006, Derringtons provides a wide range of corporate secretarial services ranging from corporate governance advice to daily filings with Companies House. The spectrum of customers ranges from listed investment funds to start-up companies. The company was founded by Jane Muir, a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute UK and Ireland (formerly known as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators).

“This acquisition suits us and our clients, of course. Kin’s overall goal is to make life easier for venture capitalists, to enable them to focus on business and enhance the experience they offer investors. Founders rarely have the time, skill or inclination to do the job of the corporate secretariat. Having control over the work of the corporate secretariat enables us to ensure it is carried out at a high level and better serving our asset manager clients, “said Christian Elmes, Kin co-director.

“This transaction is a big step for us. It brings a number of benefits to our existing customer base, not the least of which is easy access to the wide range of services Kin offers, ”said Jane Muir, Derrington’s founder.

About Kin Fund Services

As part of the Kin Group, the core of the business goes back over ten years. Originally started as a placement agent, the company has expanded to include a wide range of fund services. These include fund management, fund administration, compliance advice, now corporate secretarial services, and other services to be announced later this year.

Unusually for a fund administrator, Kin has invested heavily in building its own proprietary digital infrastructure rather than outsourcing it to third parties. This enables them to customize and tailor their infrastructure to suit their clients and deliver a world-class investor experience.

Kin is responsible for providing custodian, nominee and administrator services to many thousands of investors. These range from the British Business Bank to well-known global corporations and university foundations to private individuals investing a few thousand pounds.
