Enterprise progress delight for Sam

Sam Spoors, founder of Talentheads.

And Sam Spoors from Morpeth is delighted with the progress that her HR consultancy has made in such a short time.

She launched Talentheads in October 2020 after her previous company fell victim to the Covid-19 pandemic at the outset.

She describes her company as an in-house talent and resourcing team that works with companies on long-term, sustainable strategies to help them take control of the recruiting process.

Sam said, “I’ve worked in the industry for about 18 years, first in agencies and then internally for a large hotel and leisure company. My previous position was for a company I started with the help of an investor and it did really well with some really big clients.

“However, when the pandemic broke out in March 2020, they pulled back and within a week I had to let my team go and go out of business.

“I had many sleepless nights worrying about it, but that’s where the idea for Talentheads came about and I used all of my years of experience to do things differently.

“I was really surprised because despite the downfall and darkness, there are still a lot of people hiring and still working on their growth plans.

“I was expecting a tough ride, but we grew organically without having to make direct sales, which I wasn’t expecting.

“We have grown so fast that our first year of trading is £ 100,000 in sales.”

One of its first customers is Cooplands bakery chain based in North East and Yorkshire, which has signed a six month deal to expand its business by 100 over the next five years.

She added, “At Talentheads we are starting a business and the owner and senior stakeholders can see what we are doing and we will work closely together.

“We don’t work on a role-based basis, but rather according to a daily rate model – which is much more cost-effective and more predictable for companies. We will also do a lot of coaching and development work. “
