Jane Cohen returns to technique consultancy Bain as a companion

Jane Cohen, Partner, Bain & Company

A decade after leaving Bain & Company, Jane Cohen has returned to the strategy consultancy as a partner.

Jane Cohen became a partner on June 1 and brings over two decades of consulting and leadership experience. She began her career at Bain & Company in 1998 and spent twelve years in the consulting firm building the ranks to the senior level.

During this time, Cohen advised companies (mainly ASX 50 companies) on corporate, business and marketing strategy, performance and operational improvement, organization and process redesign, customer representation and net promoter score, management of transformation programs, and mergers and acquisitions . She also completed a secondment with Pacific Equity Partners (a Sydney-based private equity firm) and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.

Eleven years later, early next month, she will join the Bain partner team in Melbourne – one of the company’s three offices in Australia alongside Sydney and Perth. “Jane brings extensive experience to the company and has a deep understanding of our practices and principles,” said Peter Stumbles, Managing Partner of Bain & Company in Australia.

In between, Cohen worked for Australia Post for six years (including General Manager for Corporate Strategy), two years for Pacific Brands (also as Head of Corporate Strategy) and, most recently, two years at KPMG as partner and head of its Global Strategy Group in Australia.

At Bain & Company, she focuses on: business and customer strategy, digital service and product management, marketing, category management, purchasing and customer insights, innovation and new product development, e-commerce and last mile delivery networks to educate customers about the consumer across to serve products and retail, government, utilities and industries.

Despite a challenging year, Bain & Company recently booked the best six months in history, according to global managing partner Manny Maceda. While Bain does not release details on the country’s performance, Stumbles noted that Cohen’s addition will help “further grow our business in Australia and New Zealand”.
