Accenture buys sales and pricing consultancy Homburg & Partners

Accenture has announced the takeover of Homburg & Partner – a 70-strong sales and marketing consultancy based in Manheim.

Homburg & Partner was founded in 1997 by Christian Homburg, a renowned marketing professor at the University of Manheim. Since then, the company has supported over 600 medium-sized companies in ten industries in Germany and worldwide and offers comprehensive services in the areas of support for growth strategies, sales, pricing and in-depth insights into market trends.

Accenture has now added this award-winning team of 73 specialists to its European practice – attracted by its specialized marketing expertise at a time when the customer experience has become a key driver in business.

“The pandemic accelerated companies’ transition to new digital standards for customer experience and loyalty,” said Edwin van der Ouderaa, global director for customers, sales and service at Accenture.

“The addition of Homburg & Partner expands our ability to develop growth and efficiency strategies across the company and will increase our customers’ focus on increasing their sales and profits as they focus on next-generation customer loyalty.”

The acquisition brings a high reputation value. According to the American Marketing Association, the founder Christian Homburg was the second most productive marketing researcher in the world between 2007 and 2017. His company was awarded by WirtschaftsWoche (‘Best of Consulting 2020’) and as a leading consulting firm for trading strategy and sales, including BrandEins (‘Best Consultant 2021’).

“Homburg & Partner stands for excellent and practicable consulting services at the highest level that always keep an eye on the market,” said Homburg, adding that “Accenture’s size and market share will enable us to extend our value proposition to customers in various industries and regions . ”

Frank Riemensperger, head of the Accenture market unit for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Russia, also highlighted the value of the move. “If we combine our implementation skills, our global reach and our digital know-how with the strengths of Homburg & Partner, we can create value for customers in a new way.”

This is the fourth European acquisition by Accenture – and the second in Germany – since March 2021. The German human capital specialist fable + joined the company’s business in early March, followed by the takeover of the Swedish software development company Cygni in the same month and the mammoth April takeover from Linkbynet – a 900-strong cloud consulting and implementation partner based in Paris.
