FHP hires two enterprise charges specialists

FHP is hiring two business rate specialists

Real estate consultancy FHP has strengthened its Business Rates team with two new employees in Nottingham and Birmingham.

Steve Bicknell joins the company as a specialized rating advisor after a 31-year career at the Valuation Office Agency (VOA).

Bicknell will be based in FHP’s Nottingham office and will be responsible for advising FHP’s portfolio of national shopping mall customers on how best to reduce their commercial tariff liabilities, including mitigating empty rates and challenging prorated values.

He will also work with a number of fire and rescue agencies on their business rate liabilities.

Reece Pritchard joins FHP as Business Rate Account Manager and will provide a range of services to clients of the consultancy’s mall, including invoice management and forecasting that covers business rates and liabilities for empty real estate rates.

Pritchard has specialized in business tariffs for more than seven years and was previously tariff account manager at Colliers International, where he served national clients such as WeWork and The Restaurant Group. He will be based in FHP’s Colmore Row office in Birmingham city center.

Director Alastair Fearn said: “We are very excited to have Steve and Reece join our team.

“Having someone with Steve’s knowledge and experience within the VOA is invaluable.

“Reece brings a unique set of capabilities that we never had in the business before. This enables us to offer a wider range of services to our customers and improve the rate forecasting we make.”
