Lawson steps up as a part of Glampitect progress – Every day Enterprise

Glampitect, the Edinburgh-based glamping site design consultancy, has named Ellen Lawson as its inaugural director of operations.
The fast growing Scottish start-up recently announced the launch of its Middle East business in Dubai. The appointment of Miss Lawson to the new role comes as the company expands.
She has been promoted from the office manager at the company’s headquarters on Lochside Place in town and will be key as the company continues to grow with 15 new employees over the past six months to meet demand.
“It’s really exciting to be part of a start-up from the very beginning and I’m really excited to take on this new role,” she said. “It is the beginning of what will hopefully be an unforgettable journey.”
The Edinburgh businesswoman took the step just a few months after joining the consulting firm with co-founders Calum MacLeod and Ali Young.
“Basically, I joined the company as an office manager and my experience managing support functions helped bring more structure to the company,” she said. “Things have moved on pretty quickly, however, and this new role is a fantastic opportunity.
“I am excited about the responsibility to make important business decisions to continue our development and I look forward to growing with the company.
“I love to see people thrive and grow, and I really like it when people create their own futures and that will be an important part of my job here as we continue the adventure.”
Glampitect was founded in August 2019 and is involved in more than 200 glamping projects across the UK. The move to the Middle East is the first phase of a planned global expansion.
New hires include teams of specialist design consultants, architects and planners. The company aims to further increase its workforce in the coming months.
Mr. MacLeod said, “When Ellen started it was clear that she would go a long way in business. This is a quick promotion that shows a few things: how well Ellen did it, how willing we are to reward hard work, and how fast we are growing as a company.
