BIC Inc. launches its first environmentally friendly stationery line

As proof of BIC’s commitment to sustainability, every BIC ReVolution product is made from at least 50 percent recycled plastic

BICBIC ReVolution, a brand specializing in stationery, lighters and razors, introduces BIC ReVolution, the brand’s first full range of eco-friendly stationery. The range includes everyday writing utensils like high quality, durable ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, permanent markers and correction tapes designed to help consumers seamlessly incorporate more products that are recyclable or that use recycled materials into their daily routines.

As proof of the brand’s commitment to sustainability, every BIC ReVolution product is made from at least 50 percent recycled plastic. For example, the BIC ReVolution Ocean Retractable Ball Pens are made from 73 percent recycled ocean-bound plastic.

Ocean-bound plastic is plastic that is collected within 50 km of a shore or waterway that leads to the ocean and prevents it from entering the ocean. The cardboard used in the packaging for all products in the BIC ReVolution line is made from 100 percent recycled material and is fully recyclable.

“We know that today’s consumers are demanding more options for recycled or recyclable products that they can use every day,” said Mary Fox, general manager of BIC North America. “On Earth Day, we are proud to introduce the BIC ReVolution line of stationery products. We are continuing BIC’s deeply rooted commitment to supporting the circular economy and changing the way we use plastic, to better serve the next generation. “

This rollout comes as the brand evolves its global operations and products to better meet the demands of the environment and the growing number of consumers looking for more sustainable products. As part of its “Writing the FutureTogether” program, BIC has set itself several ambitious goals for sustainable development, including changing the use of plastic in products and packaging.

In addition, the brand’s partnership with the international recycling leader TerraCycle offers consumers a free and easy way to recycle their fully used stationery. For every shipment of used stationery that is collected under the BIC Stationery Recycling Program and sent to TerraCycle, collectors receive points that can be donated to a school or charity of their choice.
