Minnesota Offering Funds, Consultant Services To Struggling Small Businesses – WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Small businesses share how Minnesota programs are helping them weather the pandemic.

DEED Commissioner Steve Grove spoke to business owners in the Midtown Global Market on Thursday.

The owners had to pivot and change operations due to COVID-19.

In addition to funding during the pandemic, the state is also offering free advisory services. It is designed to help companies make changes to be profitable in the future.

“We’ve been in the market for 16 years now, sure we’ve gone through a few cycles,” said Trung Pham of Phams Rice Bowl. “But last year has really been quite a struggle for us, and certainly between the grants and loans we’ve received, that’s what keeps us afloat.”

Advisory services are offered in small business development centers across the state.
