Wipro to acquire Capco, a global management and technology consultancy to banking and financial services industry, for $ 1.45 billion

BANGALORE, INDIA & LONDON & NEW YORK – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a global leader in information technology, consulting, and business process services, announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Capco, a global management and technology consultancy , provides digital, advisory, and technology services to financial institutions in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Headquartered in London, Capco customers include many brand names in the global financial services industry. For the past 20 years, the company has worked closely with business executives, including boards and c-suites in the banking, capital markets, wealth, asset management and insurance offerings and thought leaders on key technology challenges and opportunities in the industry. In addition, Capco looks after customers in the energy and raw materials trading sector.

Capco has an experienced leadership team and over 5,000 world-class business and technology consultants in more than 30 locations worldwide who support customers with their expert knowledge, entrepreneurial approach and focus on delivery quality.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the quarter ended June 30, 2021.
