Former Derby Telegraph editor joins advertising agency as director

A former regional daily editor has taken on a new leadership role at a marketing company.

Steve Hall has been appointed as a non-executive director of Purpose Media, a website, creative and digital marketing agency based in South Normanton, Derbyshire.

Steve pictured was editing the Derby Telegraph and was editor-in-chief of Reach plc’s East Midlands titles when he retired from the regional press in 2018 after 36 years in the industry.

He was then a board member of the marketing and branding agency Champions (UK) Plc in East Midlands before leaving last summer.

Steve now runs his own counseling and runs the Derby County Community Trust. He is also a lecturer in journalism at the University of Derby.

Steve, who also holds a non-executive position at Marketing Derby, told Business Live, “I have long been an admirer of Purpose Media’s reputation for excellence and I am particularly impressed with everyone’s commitment, deep understanding of needs and To attain customer needs while maintaining a laser focus on impressive results.

“They did an excellent job of maintaining and growing their business during the lockdown, and there is a strong determination to get out of constraints in a stronger position by investing in team and niche marketing programs.

“I am very excited to join a company that is full of energy, talent, creativity and ambition, and I hope to guide future decisions to capitalize on the current high demand for digital marketing skills.”

Purpose Media employs more than 30 specialists in website development, creative and digital marketing and plans to expand the team with at least three new appointments by the summer.
