The SANT JOAN Film Festival is open to business and looking for new talent
The famous short film festival Sant Joan d’Alacant has announced that it will be held from May 8th to 15th this year, having practically been held in 2020 and celebrating the 21st edition since its inception. The organizers urge aspiring filmmakers to submit their entries from Friday, January 29th.
Participants must either be Spanish nationals or have an official residence in Spain. However, the subject of the film rests with the artist once it has been recorded since January 2020.
The Viridiana Audiovisual Cultural Association, in collaboration with the City Council of Sant Joan d’Alacant, is hosting the legendary annual event. Each participant can submit up to three films.
Filmmakers will be thrilled to hear that there are a number of awards up for grabs. However, the most coveted is certainly the Ficus de Oro award for the best fiction, documentary or animation with a free theme that includes a cash prize of € 2,000 and an official trophy, as well as the right to participate in the winning production of the prestigious Goya Awards in the category Best Fiction Short Film or Best Documentary Short Film.
