New Balance announces multi-year sponsorship deal with FC Tokyo

The sponsorship strengthens New Balance's presence in the J League and fulfills part of its growth plans for football across the continent

New balance and Tokyo FC have announced that the J-1 League team will sign a multi-year sponsorship deal with the global sports brand at the beginning of the 2021 season.

New Balance will work with the Tokyo-based team to deliver world-class designs, including a bespoke range of all tech kits and training apparel, as well as a limited edition retail product.

We Got Now is the next step on the brand's path to Fearhless Independent and is based on what both groups want to do together. The sponsorship strengthens New Balance's presence in the J League, one of Asia's top leagues. It fulfills part of its growth plans for football across the continent and helps build the brand into one of the top three sports brands in the world.

FC Tokyo, founded in 1935, can look back on 85 years of history and has won three Japanese trophies.

Kenny McCallum, general manager of New Balance Football said:

“New Balance is pleased to announce our sponsorship for FC Tokyo. The club has a fantastic story to tell and we are happy to be an important part of it. FC Tokyo is number one in a legendary city and one of the most promising teams in Asia. We look forward to creating a range of innovative and powerful pitch products that capture the true spirit of the team and its supporters. "

Tokyo Football Club President Naoki Ogane said:

“We are pleased to have signed a new official supplier agreement with New Balance. With Covid-19 still having an impact on the 2021 season, we are grateful that New Balance will generously support us as we approach a difficult year for the J League and Tokyo FC. I look forward to working with our fans and supporters to create a new Tokyo with the New Balance brand that continues to evolve with uniqueness in the areas of fashion, lifestyle and sport. "

Under the agreement, the Tokyo FC product will be sold through New Balance retail stores.
