IKEA and LEGO introduces BYGGLEK, intertwining play and storage
IKEA of Sweden AB and the LEGO Group are committed to removing barriers to daily life while creating practical, yet playful experiences that children and adults can enjoy together
IKEA from Sweden AB and the LEGO Group reveals the long-awaited result of their collaboration. The two brands have teamed up to create a playful storage solution called BYGGLEK.
The new BYGGLEK collection consists of a series of storage boxes with LEGO rivets and a special LEGO brick set. It should stimulate play and be more fun to store around the house. The BYGGLEK collection will be available from October 1st in existing IKEA sales channels across Europe (excluding Russia) and North America. The global roll-out will take place in 2020.

Because of this, the companies wanted to develop a storage solution that offered a fun, playful experience. Since the BYGGLEK boxes have LEGO rivets on the top and front, kids can incorporate the storage boxes as part of their LEGO builds. They can store their stories in themselves and proudly display their creations about them.

The BYGGLEK range consists of 4 different products – one set with 3 small boxes and two sets with larger boxes and a set of LEGO bricks to start the playful experience. BYGGLEK can be used with all existing and future LEGO elements, as the studs used on the lid and front are part of the LEGO system in the game.
