John Lewis Partnership announces partnership with Wipro

The John Lewis Partnership is a partner of Wipro Limited to support new technologies and change functions

The John Lewis partnership has announced the creation of a new partnership Wipro Limited, a global leader in information technology, consulting and business process services, providing infrastructure services.

This is a significant step in creating the new employee-owned technology and change feature that better supports business strategy and enables customers to respond even faster to digital expectations.

After a thorough review of the partnership's existing IT and change capabilities, this agreement with Wipro represents a significant change in the way the company will develop and operate its technology infrastructure to ensure that services based on these digital foundations be provided quickly, safely and successfully.

Wipro will provide technology infrastructure services such as cloud hosting, networks, end-user computing and an internal help desk for the partnership's 80,000 partners. To support this new relationship, 244 John Lewis Partnership Partners non-customer partners are expected to switch to Wipro later this year under the TUPE. Once they are with Wipro, these partners will continue to work closely with the John Lewis partnership in their new roles.

“This is an important milestone in the development of our technology and change team as we are better equipped to support the future business strategy of the partnership. Consumer behavior is changing, and in a COVID-19 world, we need to be more agile and adapt to change faster, ”said Mike Sackman, chief information officer at the John Lewis Partnership.

“Wipro will help us achieve this and ensure that we always have access to the latest technology and expertise. Partners who switch to this new supplier – like those who will continue to work directly with the partnership – will be fundamental to the success of our technology and change activities and the future success of our business. "

Srini Pallia, President of Wipro Limited's Consumer Business Unit, said: “We are delighted to be selected by the John Lewis Partnership as a strategic transformation partner. The buying behavior of retailers and consumers has changed and our big bets on industry solutions, cloud, digital, cyber security and Wipro's AI and automation platform Wipro Holmes are well positioned to accelerate the key priorities of the partnership. Both companies have synergistic value systems and we look forward to building a successful long-term partnership. "
