P&G Canada announces participation in Covid-19 relief efforts

P&G Canada will provide health care workers and needy Canadians with resources and essential products

Multinational consumer goods company, P&G Canada and its brands have announced a total donation of over $ 2.5 million / £ 2 million for hygiene products, hand sanitizers, face masks and financial support for healthcare workers and Canadians affected by the COVID 19 crisis.

Since the outbreak began, P&G has been working with its longstanding nonprofit partners, government officials and other organizations to respond to the COVID 19 pandemic. To date, P & G's monetary, product and in-kind donations total tens of millions of dollars in 30 brands, more than 200 different organizations and in 30 countries. This will continue to grow as we work with communities around the world to support their efforts.

P&G has started manufacturing face masks, hand disinfectants and face protection in various production facilities worldwide. In Canada, P&G will begin manufacturing non-surgical barrier masks at the Belleville site in the coming weeks and hand disinfection at the Brockville site. Once production is up and running, the company will work with local authorities to donate products that can be manufactured beyond operational requirements. The masks and disinfectants manufactured are not available in retail stores.

P&G has been working with its long-term partner since the beginning of the COVID 19 outbreak. GlobalMedic, a Canadian disaster relief organization to provide everyday health and hygiene items to those who need them most in this challenging time. As part of this effort, P&G donated 33,000 hygiene kits totaling over $ 500,000 / £ 404.6,000 to local animal shelters and food banks.

These kits contain important hygiene items from brands such as Comb, Orally B., Pantene, secret, always, Old Spice up, and ivory. And to that Spoiled has contributed 30,000 diapers through United Way member agencies and Tide is donating in-kind products through Food Banks Canada.

Recognizing the critical role of healthcare workers during this pandemic, P&G, in collaboration with GlobalMedic, is donating personal care products to hospitals for healthcare workers across Canada. This includes more than 200,000 product units from brands like Pantene, valued at over $ 1 million / £ 809.6,000. head & Shoulders, OlaySecret old spice Gillette, Venus, Coat of arms, Oral-B, Tampax, and tide.
