Softgiving supports the online charity stream Wash Yo Hands Tourney

Cloud 9, Dignitas, immortal Play society, and FlyQuestSome of the world's leading esports organizations are working on an online tournament using the fundraising platform Softgiving to raise money for the California Community Foundation's COVID-19 LA County Response Fund.

Four esports organizations launched the Wash Yo Hands tournament on March 16 with an online competition between the organizations. League of legends Teams that work together until March 19 to help local communities affected by COVID-19 and raise awareness of how to prevent further spread. Each team competes in a round robin format with off-role positions for each player and includes a blacklist with the ten most competitive League of Legends champions. Every dollar donated goes to community grants in Los Angeles, with an initial focus on education, health, homelessness, and individual help.

The upcoming Wash Yo Hands Tourney events take place every evening at 6 p.m. PDT on Twitch and can be viewed at Twitch.tv/Dignitas, Twitch.tv/Cloud9 and Twitch.tv/Immortals

The four participating esport organizations and softgiving hope that the Wash Yo Hands tournament will go beyond the four-day tournament and continue as a long-term non-profit initiative. All parties strongly encourage esport fans to continue using streaming and gaming opportunities to collect donations for those affected by COVID-19 while raising awareness of how individuals can mitigate the spread.

The Wash Yo Hands tournament directly benefits the LA County Response Fund, launched by the California Community Foundation to meet the immediate and emerging needs of the most vulnerable residents in their area – from mitigation to eventual recovery.

To support the Wash Yo Hands tournament, Softgiving provided donation tools and created a landing page where the streaming and gaming community can donate to the cause, track the total amount raised, and view current and top donations.
