Social Media Advertising Skilled Improvement Programs From College of Phoenix Expedite Upskilling

PHOENIX–(BUSINESS WIRE) – The great resignation continues to be part of the working environment of today’s workers as many working adults are willing to change their professional focus and strategy. During National Career Development Month, the University of Phoenix announces that it has expanded its support for learning autonomy and in-demand skills with new Social Media Marketing Professional Development Courses. These courses are designed to help busy adults quickly develop professional skills in growing areas.

Continuing education courses provide learners with skill building opportunities to save time and money outside of a traditional university course.

According to Emsi Burning Glass, a leading provider of labor market research, there have been nearly 19,000 unique jobs for social media marketing functions in the past 12 months. Compared to the previous year there was an increase of 75%; with 2,371 unique job offers in the field of social media marketing in October 2020 to 4,143 in October 2021. The new social media marketing track is mapped to sought-after skills that employers often publish in job descriptions, as identified by Emsi Burning Glass. These skills include building social media marketing campaigns, content creation, analytics, working with top social media platforms, and more.

“The track is designed to help people learn new social media marketing skills that they can add to their résumé in just weeks,” said Mukund Sudarsan, vice president general manager of professional development at the University of Phoenix. “These courses are unique in that they focus on in-demand skills and professional industry certification exams that can help students demonstrate professional skills necessary to effectively manage social media platforms.”

The two-course track can also prepare individuals for the exam for an appropriate industry certification exam. The university’s no-credit continuing education courses are 100% online, self-directed, and typically last around 30 hours so learners can complete them on their own schedule.

Learners can repeat and complete the assessments as often as they want to ensure they understand the key concepts and demonstrate the new skill. After successfully completing a course, participants can also showcase their newly acquired skills to employers by sharing a certificate of completion.

The catalog of continuing education courses continues to grow with content in the areas of digital marketing, non-clinical healthcare, information technology and virtual teaching. The university is expanding its course portfolio for today’s busy professionals who need to train quickly and inexpensively in a changing job market.
