Small Enterprise Focus: A ReLaunch Success Story

Small Business Focus: A ReLaunch Success Story

This column is sponsored by BizLaunch, a division of Arlington Economic Development.

Since the ReLaunch started in March this year, over 100 Arlington companies have applied for the program.

ReLaunch is an initiative from BizLaunch, Arlington’s Small Business Assistance Center, which is divided into two segments: ReNew and ReVitalize. Through ReNew, companies can get support in activating a website or e-commerce solution developed by Nub8 and operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). With ReVitalize, businesses can access free consulting services from Revby, an experienced small business consultancy.

While many small businesses have taken advantage of ReLaunch’s free consulting services, we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the companies that could get help updating their website or launch a brand new website using Nub8 and AWS.

Like many cultural non-profit organizations, health restrictions forced Jane Franklin Dance to switch back in March 2020. So Jane Franklin Dance began offering performances, summer camps and classes digitally through Zoom.

“After the last 16 months of virtual programming, it’s a great time for us to come up with a new look (website) to highlight personal experiences for young campers, general audiences and moving companies of all ages,” said Jane Franklin, Artistic Director and Founder of Jane Franklin Dance. “The website looks smoother and more dynamic now, and we have the background tools that we can adjust if necessary. Thanks to AED, AWS and Nub8 for developing the ReLaunch initiative and for helping us update our website. “

Check out their new website for a list of their upcoming performances, courses and summer camps.

Rincome Thai cuisine

Rincome Thai Cuisine has been a staple of Columbia Pike for 36 years, well before the internet age. When many companies started developing websites, Rincome Thai founder Mihee Pansiri wanted to market her business online and asked for help from a friend who had created her first website with Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, over time, their original website looked outdated and wasn’t optimized for viewing on mobile devices.

About two years ago, Caviar, a grocery delivery company, got in touch with an offer to update their existing website.

“It was a nice website, but it was only beneficial to them,” Pansiri told Techtify Your Business at a recent webinar. “There were some pictures and prices, but there was nothing about my restaurant and directing customers to order through their delivery service. When I was selected for the ReLaunch, I was very grateful and the Nub8 team was very patient with me to help with the launch of my new website. Now we have a brand new website that tells the story of my restaurant and it is very easy for customers to navigate. “
