RSK acquires CS2 building consultancy

The Chartered Surveyor CS2 was taken over by the engineering office RSK. Management consultancy Consulting M&A worked with CS2 to support the company in the sales process.

Founded in 1999, CS2 is a UK construction consultancy offering a fully integrated service that includes building surveying, insurance surveying, cost consulting, project management, construction consulting, dilapidation, energy and sustainability. The company’s locals serve their regional business communities from seven UK offices while providing a local hub for the needs of CS2’s broader national blue-chip customer base. The company’s reach was one of the factors that caught the attention of RSK – a professional environmental and engineering services company that acquired CS2 for an undisclosed fee.

RSK was founded in 1989 and has since grown into a group of more than 100 companies offering end-to-end solutions for customers across the construction sector. RSK, headquartered in Helsby, Cheshire, employs over 6,000 specialists worldwide and is known for practical solutions to global challenges.

RSK Chief Executive Officer and Founder Alan Ryder said, “We are very excited to welcome CS2 to the group as they support our goal of providing end-to-end solutions to our customers. A company with passion, partnership and performance is a company that RSK can stand behind. Our shared ethos will lead to fantastic opportunities that we will love to explore. “

The transaction marks RSK’s 11th purchase in 2021. Prior to arrival, the company also had The Scan Station, RSK Orbital, SkyVision International, Smith + Kennedy Architects, Stephenson Halliday, QSI, Waldrams, Althoff & Lang GbR, Minerex and TechnikGS taken over.

With the acquisition, CS2 will continue to offer its customers surveying and consulting services as part of the RSK brand. The entire workforce will be retained while CS2’s existing management team, led by Managing Director Andrew Mather, will continue to run the arm of the company. CS2 becomes part of the RSK Geosciences and Engineering Department.

“CS2 is pleased to be on board and part of RSK’s strategic investment program,” said Mather. “RSK’s technical excellence in a variety of services and sectors will be of great interest and benefit to our customers. We are culturally and philosophically oriented and we will continue to provide fantastic customer service delivered by technical experts. “

Consulting M & A supported CS2, one of the UK’s most renowned construction consultancies, in the sales process to RSK. Founded in 2019, Consulting M&A is a London-based company that enables consulting and IT services business owners to grow valuable and salable businesses.

Bruce Ramsay, Managing Partner of Consulting M&A, commented on the news: “RSK is one of the most successful acquisitions in the environmental and engineering consulting sector with at least 12 deals as early as 2021, they will be a great home for the shareholders, employees and customers of CS2 . “
