Recruitment drive for consultancy PJA and more appointments news

The transport, engineering and placemaking consultancy PJA has hired a number of new employees in their team in Birmingham.

The technical division of the business in town was strengthened with the arrival of Assistant Director Andrew Nixon, Associate Alison Caldwell, and Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer Phoebe Ryding.

In addition, Shannon Connelly has been appointed as a consultant on the transportation planning team and Belinda Garey has been appointed as office manager.

You are part of 11 new hires across the UK network, including offices in Cambridge, Manchester and Reading.

Joint Managing Director Nigel Millington said: “The past few months have been very busy for us so it’s great to have our new starters on board to respond to the growing customer workload.

“They all bring knowledge and experience to offer our customers exceptional solutions.”

In other appointment news, Evtec Automotive, the Coventry-based automotive supplier for electric vehicles, has named Steve Norris as chairman.

Mr Norris is a former UK Secretary of Transport and has served on the boards of many public and private companies for 50 years with the UK automotive industry.

He said, “We are facing major challenges and adapting to an electrified, zero-emission future. So I am very excited to be part of Evtec Automotive, a new company that is incredibly well positioned to meet these challenges.”

Financial specialist Emma Hudson has joined the Isio investment advisory firm’s office in Birmingham as a director.

A qualified actuary, she worked for the asset management company Mercer for 11 years after graduating from the University of Nottingham.

Specialized lender Cambridge & Counties Bank has expanded its newly formed Midlands team with the appointment of Stephen Parr as Relationship Manager in Birmingham.

He comes from Aldermore Bank, where he was Assistant Lending Manager for almost three years. Prior to that, he worked at NatWest in the Invoice Financing and Commercial Banking teams.

Cambridge & Counties Bank expanded its teams in the West and East Midlands to include the South Region late last year.

Mr Parr said, “I am very pleased to have joined Cambridge & Counties Bank as it is about to expand.”

A new technical manager has joined commercial heating specialist Lord Combustion Services as the company continues to grow based on a successful performance in 2020.

Peter Drew joined the company as Contract Manager, which serves more than 1,000 clients in the West Midlands from its Oldbury base.

Prior to that, he spent 16 years with Solihull-based building technology consultancy Stewart Associates, where he was a senior mechanical engineer.

Lord Combustion Services serve a wide range of customers including the Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s Edgbaston Stadium and NHS locations.

The new addition to the team comes after Greg Jones was promoted to a senior position on the company’s board in January.

Wolverhampton-based ROKiT Drinks has promoted Graham Higgins to Chief Executive and Lee Barber to Chief Commercial Officer.

Mr. Higgins has been in the beverage industry for more than 25 years and came to ROKiT Drinks when the company was founded four years ago.

Mr. Barber brings similar experience in previous roles at brands such as Bass Brewers, Molson Coors and Carlsberg UK before joining ROKiT Drinks as UK Sales Director in 2017.

Two students who have completed internships at Thursfields Solicitors have both received full-time paralegal positions.

Rhiannon Bartlett and Kiran Kaur Shinjin have both been hired as paralegals on the residential real estate teams in Kidderminster and Solihull, respectively.

Executive Director Michelle O’Hara said, “This is a great example of how law firms can enter the legal profession and invest in future talent.

“We are thrilled that both Rhiannon and Kiran have accompanied us on this educational path and we are confident that they will both continue to be successful in the legal world.”

In addition, the firm’s director of labor and personnel law, Helena Morrissey, has joined the board of directors of the Solihull Business Improvement District.

McCann’s central regional office has carried out two executive promotions. Gideon Wilkins and Kathryn Ellis are the company’s new managing partners.

Mr. Wilkins joined McCann in Solihull in 2019, having previously held the position of Global Brand Guidance Director at Kantar, where he managed the Unilever account.

Ms. Ellis has over 15 years of branding, business and communications strategy leadership and a senior lecturer in advertising at Southampton Solent University.

The family team at the Irwin Mitchell law firm’s Birmingham office has welcomed new employee Charlotte Clewes.

She has experience in divorce and cohabitation matters and joins the practice of Shakespeare Martineau.

Ms. Clewes specializes in high net worth and complex financial matters relating to divorce, marriage and marriage contracts as well as civil partnership contracts.
