A new consultancy has been launched in the North West that challenges the formulaic approach to planning and development.
Planner Matt Dixon and project manager Louis Howard have teamed up to create Enabl with a simple three pillar philosophy.
Matt said, “Developers want to know three things: What can I build? What will it look like? What will it cost?
“I can tell you from a commercial point of view what can be built, we network with the most suitable architects to come up with a concept for the site, and then Louis will guide you on the probable costs.
“That sounds easy, but this cross-collaboration is often missing.”
Altrincham-based Enabl already works with clients such as Cert Property and Equilibrium Healthcare, helping them move projects forward.
Louis said, “We believe the industry needed a new approach that would provide developers with clarity early on. Our goal is to give every project as much chance as possible to be a successful project that will actually be implemented.
“It’s something much broader than just planning based on the book or doing a simple front-end evaluation to work out funding.
“We tend to approach things as a group. So if anything is added to make planning easier, they need to know what it will cost. Likewise, having the right permissions and permissions in the right order can affect the build program, which in turn affects costs. Being in the same office and discussing options when you arrive is a great advantage. “
The company works with a range of architects, from small bespoke firms to larger offices, depending on the needs of the site and the builder, and also brings in landscape architects, engineers and other consultants if necessary.
Matt added, “We are also discovering that we are a useful knowledge center, bringing websites to clients, clients to architects, architects to developers. We join the loops without making any prescriptions.
“We like to work with many different consultants who we know as innovative and visionary and whom we trust. We have the opportunity to put together a tailor-made team of talents that is project-specific and accompanies a project through to completion. “
