Pandemic fails to halt progress of property consultancy’s Scottish division
The pandemic cannot stop the growth of the Scottish real estate advisory division

The Scottish Real Estate Advisory Service Bidwells achieved record sales for 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Scotland managing partner Finlay Clark The focus and confidence in the selected key markets has resulted in the Scottish division, headquartered in Perth, achieving its originally planned sales of £ 5.46 million by the end of the year.
Like most companies, 2020 proved to be very challenging for the 180 year old real estate business. Due to the focus and belief in the selected key markets, the Scottish division has achieved its original budgeted sales of £ 5.46 million by the end of the year.
Mr. Clark said, “It has been a difficult year for many in many ways, but our business has adjusted phenomenally. Home work began and budgets were filled in the first quarter. However, we are very pleased that we met our original budget and achieved a fee growth of 3% from our 2019 result. As a pioneer in energy and renewable energy, forestry, estate management, planning and strategic development, we have achieved an excellent result as these markets have stayed on track with our strategic business plan. In addition, we have seen an increase in demand for our specialist rural real estate agency services.
“We are expanding our forestry, strategic development, and energy and renewable energies teams to meet customer and market demands. Land surveyor Fraser Smith has joined our energy and renewable energy team at a time when new technologies are emerging and a whole host of opportunities await those willing to invest in green energy and infrastructure. “
Mr. Clark said Alastair White, former CEO of Muir Homes Ltd.will join the company as a consultant to improve its strategic development and planning services.
He added, “Alongside our top appointments, one of the most important steps we’ve taken – and that impacts all of our lines of service and investors – is the launch of a new natural capital and sustainable investment service that brings new thinking and opportunities to landowners . This is of particular resonance as we work toward environmentally friendly economic recovery and sustainability in everything we do. My colleague Andy Turnbull, who has a proven track record in forest investment and sustainability, will lead this team.
