ORE Catapult awards regional consultancy contracts – reNews

Opergy has been selected as a sector consultant for both Catapult’s Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programs for Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) in North East Scotland and North East England.

Opergy is already an advisor to the New Anglia cohort, which began shipping in April 2021.

In addition, the consulting company is the framework holder for the future industry-specific F4OR program provision.

Designed by ORE Catapult, the program aims to expand the UK supply chain for a rapidly growing renewable energy sector by helping companies with business excellence and industry knowledge enter the offshore renewable energy supply chain.

With the aim of strengthening the regional offshore wind energy supply chain, Opergy will advise companies in the North East of Scotland and the North of Tyne and North East of England on a variety of areas including industry knowledge, industry specific HSE, technical risk management and more.

Martin Dronfield, Commercial Director and Head of Deployment for F4OR Programs, said:I’m very excited and proud to announce that Opergy has launched three new Fit 4 Offshore Renewables programs for the North East Scotland, North East England and as Frame holder for the future delivery of the Fit 4 Offshore Renewables program.

The award strengthens our relationship with ORE Catapult as well as the offshore wind industry more broadly and underscores our ability to provide both extensive knowledge of offshore wind and broad geographic coverage from northern Scotland to southern England.

There is also the possibility for Opergy to officially bring two new Associate Consultants into the Fit 4 Offshore Renewables Delivery Team. Accordingly, I am pleased to welcome Isla Robb and her company EC20 Limited and Alan Duncan and his company Scotia Supply Chain Limited to our team, their extensive experience in the offshore wind sector can only enrich our cooperation with the industry. “

ORE Catapult F4OR Program Manager Andrew Stormonth-Darling added, “Opergy’s extensive experience in offshore renewable energy and in supporting the UK offshore wind supply chain makes them the ideal partner to implement our flagship supply chain growth program.

“We look forward to working with them to bring many more UK businesses to the offshore renewables market.”
