Global streaming giant Netflix will roll out updates to its app on Android smartphones, showing that games are now available for download as the brand expands into the gaming industry.

To kick off their adventure into the popular world of gaming, the company has curated five mobile games that will be included for Netflix subscribers.

The company promises more to come – with no in-game advertising and no in-app purchases, as is common with other mobile games.

Of the five games launched with the service, two relate to Netflix’s phenomenally popular “Stranger Things” original series. Below are the first five games the company plans to release:

  • Stranger Things: 1984
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game
  • Card explosion
  • Rocking up
  • Shoot hoops

“While this is just the beginning of a long journey, we’re excited to bring you a gaming experience that is different from what’s available today – exclusive mobile games with no ads, no in-app payments on your Netflix -Membership are included. “Said the company.

While the initial games have relatively simple graphics and casual gameplay, Netflix says it is in the very early stages, but plans to develop games “for every type of player” at some point.

Mr. Verdu was a key contributor to Netflix, having worked at gaming giant EA and later at Facebook, where he worked on augmented and virtual reality.

The release is currently only available for Android smartphones and tablets. Netflix said games would hit iOS devices “in the coming months”.
