IKEA appoints Linus Karlsson as Chief Creative Officer

Linus Karlsson’s main job is to set the creative direction for the IKEA Range and Marketing & Communication, including the creative guidance and inspiration of the many employees and collaborators across the IKEA network

With the ambition to be a positive force in society and at the forefront of domestic life, IKEA wants to be in constant motion and creatively explore what, where and how people’s imaginations of home will be in the coming decades. To speed up this work, the company has decided to appoint a Chief Creative Officer for Range and Marketing & Communication.

IKEA of Sweden AB welcomes Linus Karlsson, one of the most respected and respected creative managers in the advertising industry, as Chief Creative Officer from April 1, 2021. His main job is to set the creative direction for the IKEA Range and Marketing & Communication. The role also includes the creative leadership and inspiration of the many employees and cooperation partners throughout the IKEA network.

“Creativity is in IKEA’s DNA, but we have to keep increasing it and fueling our imaginations to ensure that we capture the needs and dreams of people in our future range, communicate in new and diverse ways, and share our offer with the many People. The Chief Creative Officer will play a key role in this, ”says Erika Intiso, Marketing and Communication Manager at IKEA of Sweden AB.

“We want to strengthen our creativity in our daily work with design, product development, marketing and communication. How we take care of creative ideas and turn them into the reality of IKEA products and solutions that the many people can meet. As Chief Creative Officer, Linus Karlsson will be an accelerator, a stepping stone and a source of inspiration and experience. And we are very happy to have him in this role, ”says Fredrika Inger, Manager for Assortment and Product Development at IKEA of Sweden AB.

Linus Karlsson has worked with IKEA as a consultant on several creative projects since the beginning of 2012. His previous engagement and work for the company included being a guest speaker, creative director and content partner.

“I’m very excited to join IKEA in this role as IKEA is a creative company at its heart and my job along with all of my colleagues is to feed it, promote it and make sure it comes out. I see IKEA as a way of thinking and living with democratic design at the center. And that motivates me deeply, because it is by nature a commitment to social justice, ”says Linus Karlsson.
