How franchising has helped a Yorkshire social media consultancy enterprise develop

How franchising has helped a Yorkshire social media consultancy business grow

Social media specialist Rik Courtney has ambitious plans to partner with 1% of the UK’s 5.9 million companies. By the time Be More Social got their company up and running, it couldn’t be accomplished from a small Yorkshire base alone – the CEO took a leap of faith and started franchising his social media consultancy earlier this year.

After Rik and his team decided to run the company as a franchise in January 2021, they worked on waterproofing the franchise model before initially launching the pilot franchise model in May – with four franchisees on Board. Now, from humble beginnings, the Yorkshire company has a total of nine franchise partners across England and would like to work with other partners.

Rik Courtney, CEO of Be More Social said, “It was a big decision to move to a franchise model – especially with all the uncertainty the pandemic has created. Thankfully, despite an initial lull during the initial lockdown, things quickly turned for us and we were inundated with corporate inquiries. The pandemic eventually resulted in customers being steered in our direction as many began to realize the importance of social media for keeping in touch with customers – so much so that we couldn’t handle the demand without recruiting more team members – which sparked the idea of finally looking into franchising the business.

“My goal has always been to entertain, educate and inspire 1% of the UK’s 5.9 million businesses to teach them how to get real results on social media. It’s an ambitious goal, but I’m really excited about the power of social media and I want to help companies capitalize on it. Be More Social franchising means we can realistically begin to achieve this goal by bringing ambitious like-minded entrepreneurs on board who want to support businesses in their local communities. ”

Be More Social currently has franchises across the country in Leicester, London, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Sheffield, York, Stafford, Hull and Doncaster, creating a total of 11 new jobs to date, including the franchisees, who are all aspiring to five-figure monthly incomes to achieve.

Rik added, “All of our previous franchisees are former freelancers or business owners – so all of them have valuable experience running a business. However, we want to ensure that all franchisees are committed to the values of Be More Social and the way we work with customers because, ultimately, we care about providing exceptional service to our customers. We initially offer all franchisees a comprehensive training and support program that includes continuous training every single week. ”

Be More Social has already achieved excellent results and has grown tremendously since transitioning to a franchise model and has been working with another 48 new customers since May. Including ActionCOACH Orsett & Dagenham, Overford and Archform Byte Ltd.

Rik and his team have over 25 years of marketing expertise and 14 years in social media to share with customers and franchise partners to educate and inspire companies to thrive on social media. With the future looking bright, the team at Be More Social is keen to help business owners everywhere and is hoping to continue growing their franchise by rolling out overseas within the next 12 months.
