Birmingham-based M&E consultancy CPW is celebrating an outstanding year with the opening or expansion of four offices, several new hires and a company-wide rebranding.

The company, formerly known as Couch Perry Wilkes, has seen significant growth since June 2020 – with 67 employees, including 12 trainees, a new acoustics department has been created to meet growing demand and offices have opened in London and Manchester.

It has also doubled the team in Leicester and tripled the Bristol office to better serve customers in the regions.

The sustainable building technology company has also renewed its commitment to sustainability through its own processes and projects and is committed to achieving net zero by 2035.

Carl Humpage, Director at CPW, said: “We have had an incredibly strong year so far, with revenue exceeding 10% year over year and a number of successful project tenders for new clients such as the University of Oxford and other prestigious clients.

“We are very proud of our employees and the support they have provided over the past year – they are true ambassadors for CPW. Hence, it is the strength of our people with their experience and know-how, as well as our high quality services that define us and our new brand – which includes a refreshed brand identity, logo, website and office equipment – really reflects this.

“We had a fantastic year with many new team members. We are particularly pleased about our trainees, because it is very important to us to train the next generation and to offer everyone equal opportunities. We have a solid apprenticeship program and we look forward to building on that in this new chapter. “

Founded in 1978, CPW operates in a number of sectors including healthcare, housing and education.

It has a team of more than 280 people in nine UK regional offices and two international offices in India and Poland.

CPW has secured a number of key projects including Oxford University’s carbon reduction framework, the regeneration of Cambridge Road Estate, a project in Kingston Upon Thames and The Island Quarter in Nottingham.

Humpage added: “The renaming marks a significant milestone in our 43-year history, particularly the departure from the full company name of our founders. However, we wanted the name and brand to reflect the modern, sustainability-oriented and future-oriented company that we are today.

“It also encompasses our goal of delivering truly amazing buildings that minimize their impact on the environment while improving the lives of those who use them. To achieve this, we have developed five pillars of action that shape our business: sustainability, innovation, social value, our employees and our customers.

“We are very proud of everything we have achieved over the past year and beyond, despite the challenges of the lockdown. The entire team is therefore looking forward to this new chapter in our history and is building on this rebranding to expand our team and service offering to become the UK’s sustainable M&E company. “
