Columbus divests US SMB Enterprise Unit as a part of focus

Columbus A / S today reached an agreement to sell its US Microsoft Dynamics SMB business to Microsoft cloud company Enavate, based in Colorado, USA
As part of Columbus’ Focus23 strategy to focus on digital consulting and services for larger customers, the company has entered into an agreement with the US-based Microsoft cloud company Enavate to acquire the SMB business unit in Columbus US.

The divestment ensures that our SMB customers are partnering with a company that is strategically focused on solutions that meet their business needs, ”said Søren Krogh Knudsen, CEO & President, Columbus.
The Columbus market approach in the USA is divided into two business areas:
- An enterprise business unit that serves larger customers and focuses on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- An SMB business unit serving small customers focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and Microsoft Dynamics GP.
The sale includes the SMB business unit with 55 employees and up to 1,400 customers.

The Focus23 strategy includes a more focused and simplified way of working with an increased focus on larger customers and a more digital consulting approach with the aim of exploiting the full growth potential and gradually increasing organic growth to at least 10% annually from 2023.
The total net proceeds of USD 16.5 million will be paid in two installments, USD 8.0 million in cash upon completion and an additional USD 8.5 million in cash by April 30, 2022 at the latest. The sale of the US SME business will have only a minor impact on the company’s equity.

The sale will have a total annual turnover of approx. DKK 150 million and EBITDA of approx. DKK 25 million.
