The French multinational IT and consulting company Capgemini has announced its readiness to take over the Australian systems integrator Empired. Empired is headquartered in Perth and has an army of over 1000 professionals in Australia and New Zealand.

The IT service and consulting giant announced this takeover today (July 19, 2021) and is now waiting for shareholder approval. Once Capgemini gets the green light, he will pay Empired AU $ 233 million.

The Capgemini acquisition is expected to close in mid-November, subject to approval. This deal will add $ 188 million to Capgemini’s sales in the ANZ region.

The Australian company Empired, founded in 1999, offers expert advice in the field of cloud and data implementation as well as managed services to support the constantly evolving digital transformation strategies of its customers.

The deal with Empired will be Capgemini’s fourth in Australia in the last 18 months and will give the French-listed group an additional boost in the New Zealand market. In New Zealand, Empired has offices in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin. The company does about a third of its business in New Zealand.

In Australia, Empired has Perth offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide. In 2021, Empired expects EBIDTA to have estimated sales of AU $ 22 million of approximately AU $ 186 million.
