Former A + E Networks executive Hayley Babcock has founded a new media consultancy that began with a deal with Scottish indie company Two Rivers Media to advance its expansion into the US market.

Hayley Babcock Media Consulting (HBMC) was founded earlier this year after leaving the US broadcaster in March as Head of Formats and International Production and Programming.

In the company’s first announced partnership with Two Rivers, HBMC will lead Prodco’s US creative development, production and business strategy.

In addition, Babcock will help drive new partnerships, production contracts and other collaborations for Two Rivers, including those with global platforms, in collaboration with Two Rivers’ US agent ICM.

At A + E, where Babcock worked for almost five years, she worked on deals such as the international roll-out of the screenplay series UnREAL, the bridal shows Seven Year Switch and Bride & Prejudice as well as the survivalist show Alone.

Before joining A + E, Babcock built the North American acquisitions division of the Endemol Shine Group before moving to London and worked on international format productions for Sony Pictures Television for three years.

She also built up the format production department of US broadcaster Fox for six years and was director of international programming and production at what was then CBS International, now part of ViacomCBS.

Babcock had previously founded a media advisory group under the same name HBMC, which she owned from 2010 to 2016.

Alan Clements, Managing Director of Two Rivers Media, said, “International growth is a strategic area for Two Rivers, not only in terms of our commercial success, but also in terms of the future development and investment of our team in the UK. As a direct result of our strategic partnership with All3Media, the partnership with Hayley Babcock is an extremely timely partnership for us, as we already have US projects going. “

Babcock said, “The ambition and energy of Two Rivers and the experience of the creative team that Alan put together are truly impressive. The global marketplace has an insatiable appetite for new stories and new voices, and I’m excited to be working with Two Rivers to expand its reach in the United States. The company already has excellent programs that are resonating around the world and I look forward to embarking on our growth plan here in the US. “
